Lowell Weil, Jr. is the Chief Advisor of Podiatry Provider Platforms at SCALE Physician Group.
Lowell is a podiatrist and the CEO of Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, one of the largest physician owned podiatry practice in the country that puts excellence and innovation first. He is also the founder of FABI – Foot and Ankle Business Innovations (FABI), which hosts live events that break down all the logistics that go into running a successful, modern podiatry practice and also provides coaching to those desiring more intensive business growth.
Previously, Lowell was the Fellowship Director at Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, an American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons recognized program. He also held the positions of Editor at Foot & Ankle Specialist, President at the International Society for Medical Shockwave Treatment, and the Team Podiatric Consultant for the Chicago White Sox baseball team.
Lowell is the Co-Inventor of CREED Cannulated Screws, which received its 501(k) clearance in December, 2020. He is also the Co-Inventor of the Complete Plantar Plate Repair System (Athrex), Anchorage Plating System, and CP Plating System (Stryker). Lowell pioneered surgical procedures including Calcaneal Scarf Procedure for Flatfoot Reconstruction and the Combined Weil Osteotomy and Plantar Plate Repair, and has published over 100 papers, articles and book chapters on surgical techniques, clinical excellence and business development.
Lowell is a Fellow at the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and a Member of both the American Podiatric Medical Association and Illinois Podiatric Medical Association. He graduated with a BA from Vanderbilt University and received his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery.
