Charles Mazzocchi is the Chief Advisor of Procurement at SCALE.
Charlie is currently a partner and the Vice President of Procurement at MD Procure in Brooklyn, NY. In his role, he analyzes spend data for clients and provides a cloud-based electronic procurement solution streamlining the procure-to-pay and inventory management processes while delivering substantial bottom line cost savings on all purchased goods and services (typically in the 20%-80% range).
Previously, Charlie was the Director of Sourcing and Procurement at ProHEALTH Medical Management, LLC (owned by United Health Group) and the New York Proton Center (supporting ProHEALTH, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Montefiore, and Mount Sinai Health Systems). Charlie was responsible for the procure- to-pay process which included vendor relationship management and contract negotiations for $125M+ annual spend across 1,500+ vendors supporting 30+ medical specialties. This included all direct and indirect spend (pharmaceuticals, medical-surgical supplies, medical equipment, IT hardware, software, equipment service contracts, and office supplies and various services) for a $1B Local Care Delivery Organization with 250+ non-acute clinical locations located in New York. His team produced $30M+ in total savings over a 3-year period.
Earlier in his career, Charlie held several supply chain and operation leadership roles at Scholastic Corporation and Coral Graphics (part of The Bertelsmann Printing Group).
Charlie is a graduate of Hofstra University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Banking and Finance. He is passionate about employing cost reduction strategies and enabling healthcare providers to increase their profit while they deliver best in class patient care.
